Pride...

I am realizing that I have a lot of pride issues in my life & am trying to beat it down... it's a toughy.

I want to be the best I can be - I want my children to be the best they can be... when my 4-year-old doesn't act the way I think she should, I find myself reacting in a very prideful way - It's hard for me to let go of things - like art projects - and not have them turn out perfectly... (although I do it... I just know that my tone of voice can give me away sometimes)

I so don't want my children to feel the pressure of my sinful nature on them.... don't want to push them to be any way other than the way God intended for them to be.

I like to be in charge. I like to be right. I struggle with encouraging & uplifting others (adults).

I would love to be able to just "let go" & not have the small things matter the way they do to me... baby steps, I guess...

I need a way to find a 'gentler' me...

I think you have made the first step...acknowledging you have the problem...now you can work on it...like you said, baby steps...

Pride is in the forefront of a lot of problems, we all suffer from it in one degree or another. Humbling ourselves is hard...real hard.

I have been convicted lately of my tendencies to criticize, and realizing that I may be causing blessing to be held back from myself and my family because of it.... and it's all rooted in pride.
